Untouched: Contemporary Nature Photography

madelife is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition of contemporary nature photography, titled “Untouched”. Join us for the opening on Saturday September 21st at 7PM to celebrate the photography of recent madelife Creative Accelerator graduate Dana Doran, whose work will be appearing alongside nature and landscape pieces by D. Scott Clark and Max Seigal. The work of each artist reflects such a strong commitment to cultivating a sense of site and of subject, yet without ever assuming the transparency of photographic representation.

To take a step towards adventure, Dana Doran left her home state of Massachusetts and headed West. Now based in Colorado, she’s embracing her desire for independence and engagement with the outdoors. She views her nature photography as helping to reveal the dualism in her life— to see from behind the lens and also to live within the moment. Through this medium she finds stillness, cohesion, and acceptance.

madelife is excited to exhibit Dana’s work alongside the work of Scott Clark and Max Seigal, two Boulder nature photographers who embody this city’s sense of adventure, exploration, and commitment to craft. The opening party will feature live music, so come out and experience an evening of local art and natural wonder.
