MAKE YOUR OWN ZINE (part two): a one day workshop

In part two of making your own zine, learn how to use your drawings, ideas, poetry, stories, and photographs to create a zine using Adobe In-Design. Learn techniques for formatting, layout and printing, and walk away with a copy of your zine!

This is the second part of a two-part workshop series taught by Renee Marino of Dirt Media.

What you need to bring:

1. Think about the zine you want to create and it’s purpose. How will your zine benefit your community? Will it challenge social norms, will it spread information, will it bring joy?

2. Bring the content of your zine in PDFs, JPGS and/or Docs on a USB drive or on Google Drive. In general, you will want at least 8 images and 8 pieces of written content- which you have created yourself or have the copyrights to.

Note: You may use Madelife’s scanner if you only have a hard copy of your work (your art, photographs, drawings, written work).

3. Think about your page count, layout, title page, and cover.

4. Bring your laptop if you have Adobe In-Design.
